Started by a small group of International Indian students back in 1983, India Association today is serving about 1000 members and is one of the largest recognized student run organization at the Texas A&M University. Since its inception at Texas A&M University, IA represents the Indian culture and promotes unity among its members and the community as a whole. Our purpose is to provide an opportunity for Indian students to interact and share the joy of our culture and heritage, and to help new students coming from India make a smooth transition. Every year we host a diverse set of events both on and off campus such as talent shows, Diwali celebration, cultural , sports tournaments, through which we promote our culture amongst the South Asian community as well as all students and faculty at Texas A&M. IA has always been an outstanding organization but with your ideas and participation, this year can be even better!
